Call for same-day emergency care.

Walk-ins welcome.

The whole point of an emergency dental clinic is getting you in quickly. Most general dental offices will tell you "the next available appointment is Tuesday" when what you need is treatment today. At Macomb Emergency Dental Clinic, same-day appointments are the default, not the exception. We structure our schedule to always leave room for walk-ins and urgent calls, and our doctors are prepared to handle what walks through the door.

This page explains how our same-day scheduling works, what to expect when you call, and how to prepare for the fastest possible visit. If you are currently in pain or have an obvious dental emergency, stop reading and call 586-942-9204 now.

How Same-Day Appointments Work

1. Call Us

Call 586-942-9204 and describe what is going on. Our front desk will ask about your symptoms, pain level, how long it has been happening, and any recent injury or infection. This lets us triage your urgency and prepare the right team.

2. We Give You a Time

Most patients are given an appointment within 1-3 hours of calling. Severe emergencies (active bleeding, abscess with swelling, knocked-out tooth) are seen immediately or as walk-ins. Less urgent issues may be scheduled for later the same day.

3. You Arrive Prepared

Bring a photo ID, insurance card (Medicaid, dental, or medical), a list of medications, and any relevant records if you were seen at an ER or urgent care recently.

4. You Get Seen Fast

Emergency patients are prioritized over routine visits. Most patients are in a treatment room within 15 minutes of arriving.

5. You Get Treated Same Day

We attempt to complete treatment during your first visit. Extractions, root canals, temporary crowns, and denture repairs can all be done on-site.

What to Have Ready When You Call

  • Your symptoms and how long they have been happening
  • Pain level on a scale of 1-10
  • Whether you have visible swelling or bleeding
  • Your insurance information (Medicaid card, dental plan, medical insurance)
  • Any medications you are currently taking
  • Any allergies (especially to medications or latex)

Walk-Ins

Walk-ins are welcome whenever our schedule permits. Calling ahead is always faster, but if you cannot call, just come in. We will do our best to fit you in the same day.
